While we do not have blue bonnets here in central New England (growing zone 4-5), we do have False Indigo (Baptisia australis), which I love.

False indigo is a stunner, it attracts butterflies, naturalizes, gets funky-looking seed pods and is a native to the eastern US. What more could a gardener ask for?
